Where were we as a Town? Before the party politics came into play which has been very recent, what was the main focus of our elected officials in the Town of Parker, Its not red or blue or left or right, it’s Parker. Joshua Rivero
My response:
Oh, puh-lease! Here we go again with the "it's not about politics, it's about Parker" narrative from Joshua Rivero. Let's break down the naivety of this statement into bite-sized pieces of reality.
Firstly, "party politics" didn't just waltz into Parker like an unwanted guest at the cookout. It here because, folks, politics is the very essence of how communities are run, shaped, and, yes, sometimes ruined. You can't talk about governance without politics, it's like discussing the weather without mentioning temperature, it just doesn't make sense.
Secondly, the reason we're seeing "party politics" now more than ever is because the citizens of Parker, yes, that means us, have been asleep at the wheel. We've let the bus drive us into a ditch by not keeping our elected Town Council in check. But now, when we stand up and say, "Hey, this isn't what we signed up for!" suddenly we're the bad guys? How convenient for those who've been steering that bus into the ditch!
And let's not forget, Joshua, if you're going to whine about politics, maybe consider why someone would vote for a whiner in the first place for Mayor. We need leaders with the backbone coupled with conservative values and principles like Jeff Toborg, not the wishy-washy, "can't we all just get along" attitude that pretends politics doesn't matter.
Parker isn't just a place, it's a community that requires strong, principled leadership to thrive. So, let's cut the crap. Politics isn't the problem, it's the solution when handled by those who aren't afraid to call a spade a spade. And if you can't see that, maybe it's time to look in the mirror, Joshua, and ask if you're part of the solution or just a major part of the problem.
